The DYKA Netherlands team trains a customer on how to weld prefab HDPE pipes used for sustainable heating

DYKA HDPE pipes

For the installation of several heat pumps in the construction of a 73-apartment complex, the contractor Trebbe and installer Van der Sluis decided - for the first time - to use our HDPE solution. HDPE pipes do not corrode as compared to the more commonly used steel pipes for heat pumps, which represents a great advantage! And this is an advantage that is commercial as well as sustainable because it proves that even for this type of technology, our pipes and fittings add value in terms of supporting the energy transition. Moreover, the installer also chose to have the products delivered prefab.

The Engineering & Consultancy (E&C) department first worked on the design of the prefab solution. From there, the final design was established in regular consultation with the work planner and the project manager.

DYKA Netherlands even went the “extra extra mile” for Van der Sluis: they sent some experienced welders to the construction site to teach the installation team how to weld HDPE pipes, as this was a completely new way of working for them. Even though a lot of products were delivered prefab, there was still some welding work to do at the construction site. After a short training session on welding, the Van der Sluis employees were able to weld on their own. This resulted not only in a satisfied customer but also getting the customer to think about the many possibilities offered by our pipes in a new way.

Once again, this is a great example of how we delight our customers! Read more about this reference project via this link (in Dutch).
